3rd Class looked at force and gravity in class. One group looked at making wind powered cars. Wind powered cars don't consume fuel but high pressure air to drive itself forward. The children followed to the step by step instructions to create these cars. Another group look at making three gears shifting cars. These cars are powered by batteries. Speed can be varied by changing the belt pulley with different diameters. This followed the step by step instructions. Both groups required assistance from teacher and SNA as some of the instructions were difficult to carry out unattended. Keep following to see the finished products very soon.

Tom Crean- Polar Explorer While learning about Tom Crean local polar explorer 4th Class asked a real life polar explorer into the class to tell them all about the extreme conditions Tom had to endure on a daily basis. Anthony has been to the North Pole 22 times. He showed us what a person has to wear in the North and South Poles and even brought in some pemican (hoosh) for us to try. This is what Tom Crean and his comrades survived on. It was so interesting to ask all of other geography and science questions about the poles for Anthony to answer.
