While studying Deforestation and looking at The Amazon Rainforest, 4th Class completed an experiment where they made their own 'rainforest in a jar' to show how water can be recycled in this environment. The class were impressed to see how well their seeds grew in this environment. Some of the seeds didn't grow as well as others. We realised that some were either too wet or too dry, hindering proper growth.
Tomato Plants
Thanks to SNA Annemarie for helping 4th class to grow their own tomatoes. We got a tomato and cut it into slices and then planted these slices of tomato in soil to make their own tomato plants instead of buying them. We had to make sure to look after them and water them until it was time to replant them and take them home.
Taste Test
6th Class have been doing individual projects on countries. To make it interesting. Ms. Moriarty organised a taste of the world morning. The children had to make a cuisine of the country they were doing their project on. It was something the children really enjoyed and some of the other staff members were delighted to sample some of their creations.
