Marbling
After learning about different woodland creatures in SESE, 4th class used them as inspiration. They completed an art lesson looking at marbling, using marbling ink in water and look at the science behind it-the paints float on the water as they are less dense that the water. The children created their own designs. Then, they drew their own woodland silhouette and attached it on to marbling art piece. They were all very impressed with how their art turned out.
Senior Infants-Halloween Potions
For Halloween Aistear, Senior Infants looked at creating their own potions. They looked at mixing colours, floating and sinking properties of liquids with plenty of mess and fun.
3rd Class
3rd Class learned about mixtures in class and even learned how to make their own butter by pouring a carton of double cream into a jar, putting the lid on tight and shaking it vigorouly. After a while they could see the solid butter forming.
